Behavior Analysis and Therapy
Past/current experiences working in the field of disabilities:
- During the Summer of 2005 I worked as a Behavioral Intern at the Hope School (now known as the Hope Institute) and also world alongside 2 Board Certified Behavior Analysts and 2 Clinical Psychologists at TAP in Springfield, IL
- During the years of 2005-2006 I worked as an in-home ABA therapist through Little Friends in Naperville, IL
- From 2006-2007 I worked as a QMRP in a 72D program at Clearbrook in Arlington Heights, IL
- Also from 2006-2007 I worked part-time as an in-home ABA Therapist and was supervised by 2 Board Certified Behavior Analysts in the Chicago land area
- From 2007-2008 I worked as a Behavior Therapist/Classroom Instructor at The Chicago Autism Academy in Palos Hills, IL
- From 2008-2009 I worked at Judevine Center for Autism (now known as Touch Point) in St. Louis, MO writing behavior intervention plans for children and adults with autism and trained staff on how to implement plans.
- Currently I am working at the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Southern Illinois University under the supervision of Dr. Ruth Anne Rehfeldt
Goals for your LEND training experience:
- I plan to learn more about other disciplines approaches and work collaboratively to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities
What you wish to contribute, in the future, as a professional/family member in the field:
- What I wish to contribute is to share and develop new evidence-based methods for treating individuals with autism. Specifically, over the course of the next two semesters I plan to construct and implement novel research projects (with the intention of publishing) in the area of verbal behavior.
