Bio
Dale Mitchell is a Clinical Assistant Professor and works on several projects for DHD. He provides overall coordination for the project that is evaluating a new Medicaid Managed Care pilot project in Illinois. He also assists the Family Clinic in their billing operations by writing and revising billing software they use. In addition, Dr. Mitchell teaches in the department's master degree program.
Research Interests
Dale's research interests include compensation and turnover of direct care staff, organization and financing of developmental disability services, and health care for persons with disabilities. He has been at UIC since 1987, has made numerous public presentations regarding his areas of expertise, and has authored various publications including 3 books, 1 book chapter, and 5 articles in refereed journals. His latest book is Managed Care and Developmental Disabilities: Reconciling the Realities of Managed Care with the Individual Needs of Persons with Disabilities published in 1999 by High Tide Press. Dr. Mitchell is a Clinical Assistant Professor and teaches in the department's masters degree program.
