Jennifer Gorski, PhD

Dr. Gorski is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development and the Department of Psychiatry. She is the director of the Autism Clinic, which provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), as well as training and consultation to school districts and community programs. Dr. Gorski is also the director of the UIC Training Center for The Autism Program (TAP), a statewide systems initiative to promote best practices in the diagnosis, treatment, and education of individuals with ASD. Dr. Gorski is a certified trainer for the Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). She has special interests in the area of peer mentoring and in the transition into and out of college for students with ASD. Dr. Gorski is in the process of developing programs to support such students at UIC.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Gorski is an investigator for the Autism Center of Excellence (ACE), which focuses on translational genetic research (Edwin H. Cook, Jr., Principal Investigator). She is an active educator for numerous clinical and professional training programs at UIC, including the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program, Clinical Child Psychology Internship, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Residency.

Dr. Gorski received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology and completed pre- and post-doctoral training at Children's Hospital of Michigan, the University of Michigan Autism and Communication Disorders Clinic (UMACC), and the University of Chicago.
