Past/current experiences working in the field of disabilities:

This is my second year as a LEND trainee. Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity to observe in a variety of settings including early intervention, a feeding clinic, and diagnostic sessions.  I’m currently developing a website that provides evidence-based information about therapeutic diets for autism spectrum disorders.  I want to connect parents and people with autism to scientific information that can help them make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

Goals for your LEND training experience:

My goals for LEND are to sharpen my leadership skills and become more active in policy and advocacy.  I also learn more from other disciplines and how to develop meaningful collaborations to offer the highest quality of care.

What you wish to contribute, in the future, as a professional/family member in the field:

In the future, I hope to improve services in my local community and beyond.  I want to help and support families live healthy, happy, and empowered lives through nutrition.
